Hi I'm new to forums so if I messed up where to put this or something I'm sorry but I have a 2015 kink curb and it has stock stem and forks but I ordered a bunch of parts today and found a cool headset and compression bolt but my forks don't have a compression bolt it has a stem cap instead. Can I just unscrew my cap and insert a comp bolt or do I need new integrated bearing and all that shit plz help fast I need to order asap thanks everyone

The headset on the 2015 kink curb is a standard headset so make sure you get another standard headset or one of these https://www.danscomp.com/products/301014/Mechanik_STI_Sealed_Headset.html I have one and its great but the stem cap is the same as a fork bolt.

Thanks but can I put a stem bolt in instead of a cap?

Isn't your compression bolt and stem cap the same thing? I mean BMX forks, etc, work all on the same principle. The cap is just a big compression bolt... Post up a pic, man.
Why would you need a new head set anyway? Bike is 2015 new, you don't see the headset itself, spend money on something that makes more sense, like I dunno, new bars or tires or grips, or chain lube, or sth. If it's workin' it aint need replacin'. As simple as that. Even my headset has a broken spacer, runs fine, so no touching there.
That's just my personal opinion anyway (and they're worth nuthin), and forums are a place to express them, so judging my words won't be tolerated.
If the bolt is smaller than your cap, you've got a problem, cauz you would have no place to put that smaller diameter bolt... You see, the cap is the thing that preloads the bearings by pushing down on the stem, and that, in a way, holds the thing together.
Nay, order, try it out, and if it doesn't work, polish it real good, send it back, ask for a refund, and eat a marshmallow.
You're in the states anyway. You can order and have stuff in front of your door the next morning! For me it took a friggin 5 weeks to get here! You guys just take things for granted...Lucky donkey holes...
Tell you what. Ring up that online shop, and ask them the same question. voila! problem resolved.
