Any idea about what happened here?

|

1/15/2018 8:16 AM

This is funny because I was actually meaning to post this , as I went to go check out a future frame purchase idea and I need a sprocket and wanted a Bone Deth . All I could find was their Bone Deth cartel shop which basically only sold clothes . I’m guessing the site is just down until further notice , unless they went out of business .

one time sean burns said there was only $100 in the bonedeth bank account. sucks for them but that's what happens when no one buys their shit

It’s all bmx

It's a rough industry. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to tone it down a bit (or a lot.)

I don't think Bone Deth will ever go away though. Those guys are basically family, I'm sure they'll always keep the BD name alive, regardless of what products they make or how they sell them.

The industry kinda flushed em out..

They seemed to be doing okay up until all the new trends and techy styles of riding came about. Nowadays everyone wants bulky/flashy parts with their favorite tech rider's name on it. Nobody's really interested in 48h cassette wheels or beefed-up parts from a company that half this generation of riders haven't even heard of. & nobody wants to watch VX edits in 2017..

Also, their image kinda let them down too. I grew up riding with 2 different kids whose parents wouldn't let them order Bone Deth parts just because of the stickers and names of some of the parts. God forbid if they had seen Bone Deth's videos, their bikes probably would have been on Craigslist within the hour..

It sucks but that's just business. They made a lot of really incredible parts, have a great team, and more. They had all the potential in the world. Unfortunately at the end of the day, as a business, you have to change with the times to stay afloat.

I'm sure there was a point in time where they could have upgraded their camera equipment, stopped with all the pornographic content, hired on a few younger street riders, and put a coaster on the market. But that's just not the Bone Deth thing to do, and I respect that 200%.

It goes to show what Bone Deth really is. It's not a bike company. It's a group of like-minded people and family that do what they want, when they want. I want to think it was really never about the money for them.

Just talked to Sean Burns. He doesn't run the site and didn't realize it was down. He is hitting up their web guy as I type this. Bone Deth is alive and well.

Bone Deth isn't for everyone, but they have their following. I don't expect them to go anywhere anytime soon. So many companies make the exact same stuff and are competing for a small piece of the pie. Bone Deth has their own pie. Yeah, it's small, but these heathens are hungry.

Glad to hear this!

I love their team & parts, but their image has always made me ask "why?" Haha. Good to know they're doing well, especially with all the change going on in the industry. I've always respected them for sticking to their roots as far as parts and videos go.

I completely disagree with all of this. You're basically saying in order to be successful, they have to do exactly what everyone else is doing. I'm a firm believer that everyone following this stock model for success in 2018 is making so much of the industry stale.

Bone Deth isn't for everyone, but there are enough people into the lifestyle / the riders / the videos / the products / etc to have their own market share. Nobody else is doing what they're doing. It isn't a huge market share, but it's enough to keep the ship afloat. These guys - who I personally know quite well - have never been into any of this for money. If they make enough money to make more parts and hit the road a few times a year, it's essentially successful.

I like to support guys like this. I ordered a few Bone Deth shirts - at full price - a few weeks back because I want to do at least a small part.

this this this so much. it's why I'm so fond of them even though I don't ride any of their parts. I love their "don't give a fuck" image that they have. they do whatever they want and have a blast doing it without caring what everyone else thinks, I love that.

I'd like to ride some of their parts but I don't really need anything at the moment... I already have enough shirts as it is but maybe I'll order a couple next time I buy some stuff just to support em

I love bonedeth. I,run their wheels on most of my builds as I'm an older rider from the midschool era. Plus I'm 250 lbs so 48s are nice and strong since I'm a heavy guy!Thinking of picking up a moterbone frame here soon also.

Um Very happy to hear they are not gone and I think you guys were bot kinda on the same page towrads the end o both of those, But i have to agree with Kyle as their are a lot of dirtbag punkers out there, even if they are old like me and honestly Bone Deth are like everything that I ever want to see in BMX ever, fashion wise, tits , riding styles love it! And i do feel they are more like a family of crustpunks just doing their shit rather than worrying if it will sell.... Just fucking ride!

Thank fuck they aren't dying off. My heart literally skipped a beat when I first read this title.

Lol they just havent renewed the site. I saw it on the first of January. You gotta ask Ron or Dean about that.

But yeah Bonedeth fanboy right here. Running most of their parts (minus sprocket). One video of Sean Burns was enough to make me say “I NEED A BMX BIKE!!”. And even on my first bike I knew I wanted to be on a Bonedeth bike.

But Bone Deth isnt for everyone though, but it is for me. Bikes, Babes, Big drops, Boobies, Punk Rock’n’Rollin, Shiny bikes, Trusty rusty bikes, Motorhead.........

Yanno, I just find it really odd that their website's not back up still, after Kyle informed them that it was down.

I still have a feeling they're not making the right amount of money in today's day and age. That's the BMX Industry for ya though..

Edit; I noticed that about a week ago. It appears they have a website up now, and that it is under construction. New website?

Season was a sweet company, I liked the designs they had with sprockets and seats. It's one of those company's where I wish I bought parts from while they were around, you know how certain bmx companies just click with people.. that's why I miss sputnic bmx I wish they stayed around to make v2 parts and more frames. Season bmx parts looked solid and strong too, makes me wonder if Season was a WTP bmx side brand, or maybe I'm just wondering because we the people made a bike called 4 seasons lol. Was season bmx a side brand or branch off of another main company? Coalition bmx was kinda cool too

|

2/5/2018 4:29 PM

Coalition was cool with those crazy Holy Bars or something , with the holes in the grips and crossbar . Sputnic was cool as well . I really wanted a Space Cobra before I even started riding
