I have some Pedro's Ice Wax 2.0 lube and I was just wondering if this stuff will work on brake cables? I hear tri-flow is good but I don't have any other lubes right now. Also, I have the Snafu Astroglide cables if that matters.

I'm not sure but if what you have leaves a waxy residue, idk if I would use it because the wax build up could slow/make the cable feel catchy in the cable housing. I'm not saying that's for sure what it'll do, just seems like it would. I could be completely wrong though.
At the shop, we use this light red oil & it works wonders, makes old cables feel new. Maybe if you have a light oil like 3-in-1 Oil, try that. I wouldn't use any light grease though since grease can attract dirt/dust

thanks. yeh the stuff i have leaves a coat of wax behind when it dries. internet search isnt doing me much good, some people say using this wax based stuff is a good idea, some say it's a stupid idea, some say don't put any lube in your cables -_-
i might have to go get some tri-flow or that 3-in-1 stuff then

Ive used wax lubricant on my cables and it worked wonders. Like Sunday said it leaves the cable kinda waxy but its definitely a good thing. It lubricates just aswell as regular lubes but doesn't evaporate since its dry. Im now using a teflon lube which is basically the same way but lubricates way better because, well, teflon.

I actualy use the rock n roll cable magic stuff you can get it off amazon for a few bucks its a small 1 oz bottle but it will last you a long time becuz you dont use much but boy is this stuff good! I had a old ass odysey cable that was rusty and shit and just to test this stuff i poured a bunch down the housing and all of the gunk got cleaned out and the cable worked pretty close to new so yeah if your looking for a good cable lube get this stuff its great.
