ive been riding for 11 months. ive been riding brakes for 2 months. Charlie Crumlish is one of my favorite riders and i wantch all his vidoes. would anyone know by chance what it is that makes his brakes so squeaky and loud or possibly what brake pads he runs? ive been wanting to find out because i actually want that noise when i hit my brakes.

Wanting that noise is a sign of a brain tumor. I wish I was joking. That's actually how doctor's know when you're having problems. When this occurs, a tumor is beginning to expand in a section of your brain called the faggot lobe. It is responsible for cravings of penis in men like yourself. There is no known cure, but it seems like you caught it early so I'd go to the doctor asap as possible.

im not doing it because im trying to be like that im doing it because i can hear the amount of preassure being used when i hit my brakes. its like when you drive manual (if you evere have) you listen to the engine to know when to shift your gear. its not like im going to sit and check my rpm meter every 2 secons. same thing with my brakes. im not going to look at my brakes to check the pressure while i do a fuanu...

This is a load of crap, its like kids wanting a loud cassette because it helps them to know their speed ctap. Trust me kid, not a person on here is going to believe your story. Loud brakes are annoying and not a person wants to hear it. My little nephew rides brakes , I hate the sound..hes just not a serious in control rider to go without them.

Being that I have ridden longer than most of you have been out of diapers, I can honestly say I do understand a bit of what he is talking about. The squeak changes based on how hard you pull the lever. Higher pitched squeals typically mean more pressure on the lever/cable/rim, and lower squeals are less pressure on the lever/cable/rim. Same with the buzz of a cassette, it sounds a little different when hauling ass VS slow cruising, more of a consistent buzz (and a tad higher pitch too) instead of discernable clicks. Some people are more in tune with it than others, and with enough time you can tell if you are going faster or slower. But then again if you rock headphones, you'll never know that.
Now I wouldn't use that as the MAIN reason to want squeaky brakes, but I can see where he is coming from. Personally I base it on if my wheel locks or not.
To the original poster, Clear pads on chrome rims.
When people say things like the horror contact, I INTENTIONALLY squeal them as LOUD AS POSSIBLE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, just to be an ass, and I FOLLOW those people around the spots and parks. It's fun.

I use vagina for my brake pads. Kinda slippery when wet, but they're good once you get em going!

Headphones + squeaky brakes is the best way to troll or tell people dont like them. They get sick of it and you're not bothered.
