Broke Ezra Freecoaster Bearings

If you have money to spend, I'd definitely go to a bike shop to have them use a bearing puller as that's as accurate as it gets. Apart from that, it's incredibly difficult to do so without making your own tools or using stuff like screwdrivers..

I'll see tomorrow @ my local friends shop, and looks like all I have to do is order up 3 fresh bearings and I'm good.

Not really, I have done it dozens of times. Usually the bearing race has a groove the bearings ride in, I get a flathead screwdriver and rest it there, and tap it with a hammer, and rotate around the race until it pops out.


To the OP, you can replace bearings by getting the races out, and putting new bearings in.

It should be fairly easy to get the races out.

I had this happen to me before, it sucks a lot. So you gotta take it to a shop or a roid rage friend if you can't get it out. My one friend who is arguably insane took the one driver and stuck it in a vice, used the longest flathead screwdriver he had and just cranked down on it and it shot across the room haha i couldn't get mine out.

Took out the races with a Flathead and a hammer, was pretty easy, looks very simple to replace bearings so at least now I know what it's like to do it
Called Dans comp, just to make sure of bearing # and I ordered them today.

Well got the bearings, pressed them in after a minute or two of hammer time and my bike is back!
Dans comp seems to think I need some deodorant, so they sent goodies to help my B.O!
pretty easy doing this, glad I can extend the life of my hub

i actually use the free deoderant from danscomp for gym class lol
smells pretty good
