Broke my Eastern Nomads Cranks...feels like an accomplishment

Have had them about 3 months, but got them second hand off here, so i dont know if my warranty will get me a new set.

Jumping a 8 foot gap, off a 3 foot lip, i cleared the landing, and landed flat. Well luckily, i wasnt hurt at all, just a lil burning in my leg...and my ankle kinda is throbbing...oh well..

how did you get those pedals on those?

they only have a 6mm allen key to tighten them (on the back), and i was told by eastern that the cutout in the back is too small for one.

i was wondering the same thing but the reverse threads make it so they tighten while you pedal so you probably can hand tight em hardcore and check them frequently till they get on there snug with maybe a drop of blue loctite?

Yoo Dee Hos,

This is Rob at Eastern Bikes. To answer your question about the warranty we will not be able to warranty them since you are the 2nd owner of these cranks. But you can use our Trade-In Program that will help you out a lot on the price of a new fresh set of cranks. Feel free to contact me at robbie@easternbikes.com or phone (919)772-1907 ext. 722.

Hope we can help you out!

I see other brands of cranks break 10-1 compared to profiles. This thread bears an interesting question.... What are the strongest set of cranks currently on the market ? I've pretty much always ridden profiles and have yet to break or bend a set. So... What say you ?

I know someone who broke 3 sets of them, plus at least 3 others who either broke, cracked or bent them after like a year of riding them.

Well I rode mostly trails back when I rode hard, now I mostly ride like an old man (when I'm not injured) so I don't break a lot of parts anyway lol. Jw, what cranks do you ride ? In your opinion who makes the best set on the market today ? Same question for anybody who cares to chip in.
