Hi everyone,
I recently found a crack in my Premium Aurora frame. It has treated me well for 7 years! Time for a new one.
I like the idea of built-in chain tensioners and I am curious how they work with female axles. I have the Gsport ratchet cassette, and I figure if I set the chain tensioners then tighten up my bolts (with tension in the chain) that there is the possibility for damaging the axle bolt threads (as the chain tensioners have relatively small surface area, and will be exhibiting a force on the axle bolt threads as they are being screwed in.) I can imagine this being an issue with female axles as the threaded bolt tightens up, but not with male axles as the threads don't rotate in tightening, just the nut. Anyone have experience with this that would mind commenting?
Also, since I am in the market for a new frame I think a olive-drab green (like a military dark green) would be sick with my set-up. (see bike check below). However, I haven't found any that match my description that I like.
As far as geometry I want, I am leaning towards a more conservative sturdy set-up for roasting parks mostly (not looking for cutting edge twitchy geometry with short CS and tight large HT angle-however, I wouldn't be apposed to something a little touchier than the Aurora). I really like the Cult Foley frame, just I've had a blue frame for 7 years, I don't want another blue frame, haha. I also like the Kink Titan II, S&M ATF and the Volume Vessell.
So list your favorite green frames, or whatever color you think will look cool with my setup! (all black with gold hubs, stem and chain)
