Apparently after reading the article, it rained and froze into a sheet of black ice... Which would explain his situation... Hahaha so many times I've ran and just potatoed onto the deck with my shoulders lol

I dropped in the clover-leaf bowl on a skateboard in Calgary in the middle of winter. It looked dry. It was coated in a thin film of ice. I dropped in, rolled up the opposite wall, went to carve just and slid out of control and flopped into the flat bottom. It was about minus 20 C and it hurt really bad. I had to run up the wall and grab my friend's arm to get out. I can, unfortunately, relate.
