I have recently noticed that my chain is rusty. My gearing is 25/9. What kind of chain should I get? Also, if I move to 28/9, what kind of chain is best for that?

Any single speed chain will fit, but wider chains are stronger. I just got the bsd chain (can't remember what it's called now) and it's doing the job just fine. You'll need the same chain no matter what your gearing is, you'll just have to add a link to get it the correct length
