I just got my WTP Crysis in the mail today and assembled it. I oiled it and everything, and so far absolutely love it, except for the fact that I have a problem with the chain tension. When I have the pedals in the upright position, the chain tension in very tight, however, when I rotate the front cog 180 degrees, the chain becomes very loose. Is this bad for the bike? Also, the brakes are very squeaky, does this go away over time? Sorry for the bad pictures.Photo

Is the sprocket wobbly? If it is, you can try loosening the sprocket bolt & the crank bolts, then tighten the crank bolts first, then tighten the sprocket bolt. If the sprocket bolt is tightened first, then it can cause the sprocket to look bent & have tight/loose spots. Make sure you loosen the pinch bolts first, then the crank bolts, then to tighten them, tighten the crank bolt first, then the pinch bolts.

If that doesn't fix it, it's not that big a deal & when your chain stretches and wears in, it should compensate for that.

I feel your pain. It's annoying as crap. Especially since its a new bike. Where did you get it and who assembled it? Completes have a tendency to have that issue but normally it develops over time. If your sprocket is just stamped aluminum instead of cnc'd it might just be shaped poorly. Additional it could be the driver on the back hub (but unlikely) if nothing works get a new aftermarket sproket and maybe a chain if it takes a while to get the sprocket as they are better to be bought together because of stretching and wear. Good luck.

Sprocket needs a top hat spacer inside from the looks of things, if you have one installed is everything snug? Have you installed it so the lip is on the inside facing the bottom bracket? Can we get close up pics of sprocket, crank and BB please and how you set it up?

First sentence says it all. Wouldn't mind having that color on my frame as well!

This.. Had this exact same problem with my sprocket, Went to my lbs and told me I need a new sprocket spacer, once I got that, my drivetrain was running perfect again.

So install something like this and I should be good? I don't know what size to get though.... Sorry for the newbie questions. I am new to bmx, but not biking.

I took the sprocket off and there is already a adapter. I tried redoing it many times and also tried it with spacers (not in closed with my bike), however it still doesn't work. The sprocket does not appear to be bent, and is flat.

When you put it back together, did you make sure to tighten the crank bolts first, then the sprocket bolt?

Tight spots in your chain is something that is going to happen. Sucks that its right off the bat, but if it didnt come like that it was bound to happen after riding it a while. The chain and sprocket naturally stretch and go out of shape. Like a couple people said, just run it anyways unless you want to start replacing your drive train (chain, cranks, sprocket, hub/driver) to find which piece isn't perfectly round. Unless you got money to blow, I would just run it just right in the loosest spot and a little tight in the tightest spot and over time it will more or less wear its self even. Cause like I said. If you didn't have a tight spot now, it is bound to develop over time.
