no. i'm pretty sure it has an aluminum body, cause the thread fuck up on those ALL THE TIME. but a park CT-5, CT-7, or if you have the shadow chain, a shadow breaker. buy park breakers whenever you need, cause they last.

well then it's not heat treated. i have the CT-5 and shadow breaker in front of me. both feels really sturdy, and the CT-5 is for sure. just got the shadow one, so no idea yet...

I have broke two Shadow chain breakers, and 4 other different ones on my shadow chains. I bought the one below, and it has done great on halflink chains. You can adjust it so you don't push the pin all the way through. I have two bike shops near me that wont even touch halflink chains anymore. In my opion it is better then the shadow breaker.

i just use the pin bolt from my broken chain breaker and a small socket and a hammer but i dont have a half link can either.
