Whats up pimps and gangsters. Uhh basically i’m running a fit mac frame and the back end feels way too long so I want to slam my wheel. I bought my shadow raptor used so it has like a 9 or 10 tooth cog and i have a 25 sprocket. Basically if i slam my wheel with current chain length its way too loose to even ride and if I take out a link its too short to fit. What do i do

Half link
Different sprocket
Grind down your drop outs

I'm in the same place. Its lame my wheels like at the end of my dropouts if I take a link out it's so tight I can barely pedal. 25/9 is pretty much the standard and frames are still made that you can't slam your wheel. Now I have to ride like 23/9 or cut my frame down

Rant stops here.

Also nice to see you still got a bike dude, frames a lot better too

Same. 25/9 and have my wheel coming out the edge of my dropouts since changing over frame today...when it ends up (not) working out like this it’s because the frame was made measured to run a 10t driver...I think...don’t know of any 26t (guarded) sprockets which would probably be an easy solution too...am just going to grind the dropouts in a quarter inch. If I remember right think that a 28t worked with a half link.

You have a 25-9, and you need probably 2 of these. And problem solved. Shop around some mail order places have them for $1.00-2.00 each. Just depends

What Fit Mac frame do you have?

I think the V1 had a 13.35" CS slammed and the V2 has a 13.5" CS slammed.

This.

28/9: 13.375 W/Out Half Link
25/10: 13.375 W/ Half Link

If it's the V2 (13.5" CS):

30/10: 13.50 W/ Half Link
28/10: 13.50 W/ Half Link
27/9: 13.50 W/Out Half Link
25/9: 13.50 W/ Half Link

Slam your back wheel and measure from the center of the sprocket bolt to the center of your rear axle/ bolt.

Longer chainstays = higher hops. Embrace it

JUST GET a half link chain OR get 2-3 half links and a chain breaker. I would say get the Shadow with tool combo but not sure what budget you have. Considering a normal chain breaker with break a half link...but it will only do it a few times. After that it gets iffy about it snapping. Here are some very helpful parts and tools for getting your back wheel slammed or whatever perfect chain tension. Should help get you started

I just got my Merritt HL1 chain. My first half link and it's amazing. Strong af. Makes it possible to slam my wheel on my Skapegoat. And it's clean.

I don’t know if that’s fact or not. Seeing I have rode bikes with 14+ rear ends and 13-something and either one I can hop bar height or more depending on what it is. Seeing they have a ledge at the local high school that is way up and I can get onto it but it takes serious technique and pretty good upper body strength. But, just normal stuff that’s 2’ or so is easy. I don’t know if it’s me or what but I can’t really just hop on flat and get really high. But over or onto something it’s 100% different. Never figured that out ??
