Chainstay Length

How much of a difference does chainstay length make? I've had my 20.5 Forecaster (13.25 chainstay) for a few months but I might get a Haro SD (13.75 chainstay) to get a bigger TT length and sell my current frame to my friend...any advice/opinion would be great, thanks.

with spinning and such probably not much of a difference, but with manuals you will definetly feel a difference. longer chainstays= harder to get into manual, easier to hold manual.

I somehow can't even feel the chainstay difference, I went from like a almost 14" backend to a 13.25 slammed backend and couldn't feel it in my manuals, now I got it around 13.4-13.5 and still have troubles with manuals, so I doubt you'd notice unless you try to notice

longer chainstays are harder to spin and harder to get into a manual. they provide ALOT more stability than short chainstays. Longer chainstays are better for trails, shorter stays for street. IMO go for a long chainstay its just more stable and more controlled at any speed. If you want a nice frame with a long chainstay go for an FBM steadfast.
