Hey guys what chainstay lenth is good for street and trails? Also I heard the shorter the chainstay lenth the easier it is to get into a manual but harder to balence, and longer vise versa. Is this true? Thnx

I would guess that due to the shorter rear being short the bike would be more maneuverable and will be 'harder' to control due to that. Just like how short stem makes you turn faster. But im just guessing not sure if I'm right.
in theory your correct, i have a 13" chainstay which im pretty sure is the shortest on the market and its fine, can control it easily, i dont really understand why people complain

What's ur riding style like? I like to do big drops, how does this affect the chainstay lengths of 13"? Would it loop out or would it be like any other? Thnx
It's all personal preference. Once you find geometry that you like you'll be able to ride whatever you want no problems. It's different for everyone.
You could ride other bikes with different geo's. Just guessing.

thats thre point. ride different bikes to get a fel for what works and what doesnt for ya. i can adapt to pretty much anything except wide bars. i hate bars over 27 wide. but i have 3 frames with different bb height, tt length, ht angle and i ride em all just fine
I'm on the vital legit list!
If you're gonna do trails, something a little longer might be better. I'd say at least 13.5, and depending on how big you are look at one of these: http://www.danscomp.com/products/211652/Fly_Bikes_Lago_3_Frame_(Kevin_Kalkoff).html

This exactly. I can't ride anything over 27 either, I tried to and could barely land anything and it just felt like shit but can adapt to most frames.

Edited Date/Time:
I've got two different chainstays on my rides,
Street bike has 13.2
Trails bike has 13.75
I can do everything on my trails bike that I can do on my street bike, and I've taken my street bike over dirt jumps with no problems so it don't really matter that much, but obviously the trails bike does feel more stable in the air and at high speed, but I can boost more and spin faster on the street bike.
So with that being said I think like said above you should go for a 13.5 chainstay if you plan on riding both street & dirt.
Have a look at the wethepeople sleepless frame maybe,
TOP TUBE LENGTH 20.6“, 21.0“ or 21.4“
CHAIN STAY LENGTH 13.44"
HEAD TUBE ANGLE 75°
SEAT TUBE ANGLE 71°
BOTTOM BRACKET HEIGHT 11.8"
STANDOVER HEIGHT 8.78"
Plus lifetime garuntee, looks so nice in raw and there a great company

Once you get used to it, they will feel exactly the same, but short will feel less stable. Which is why I run 13.625".
I've run a 20" Top Tube with 13" Chain Stay for Streetland (Bit of Street bit of Flat) Its fantastic for Tech, Flatland style tricks for sure. I know people say its harder to hold manuals & shit like that. You get used to it in a few days! I am just used to frames with 21.25" Top Tubes & 13.75" Chain Stays. Honestly You will get used to whatever you buy. They all have Good & Bad points.
I mean i am going to be running 13" on my Flatland Specific bike so that gives you an idea of how short 13" is haha.
13.75 is good either way won't hit your back foot when running 4 pegs unless your feet are huge
