Hey guys, I'm new to bmx and need a little help choosing a bike.

(First, I apologize ahead of time if I sound redundant and should find the answers in other threads or it is plain common sense.)

Just in case, I decide I don't like bmxing, I'd rather invest in a cheap local used bike off craigslist. I prefer to not go over $400. I'm not sure about looking at a bike, if it will last be awhile and am able to make some good smooth progress over time.

Anyways, I live in jacksonville and there's not a lot of options. I saw this ad: 2006 Eastern Jane http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/bik/4361067877.html
Do you think it's worth it?
The only other option really is (which I'm not really leaning towards): A black 2012(?) 100.3 model Haro with broken front brakes. http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/bik/4376121317.html
What would you do or recommend?

Mongoose mode 900 from Walmart full chromoly with a cassette and 3 piece cranks for 193 bucks......no better deal then that for a beginner

Thanks for the feedback. Wow, I'm impressed that Walmart has a line of legit bmx bikes. But hey, it's two wheels that can ride, right? It works.

My first bike purchase when i got back into riding with my son was a black mongoose mode 540. Bike is all hi-ten but is still going strong and i beat the crap out of it. I bought it from a local neighborhood kid for 50 bucks who was upgrading to a fit(also hi-ten).laughing
