Just spray some degreaser or something and wipe it off ...
Use shoelaces on your hubs to keep them clean

^ What he said . If you tie it too long it can get caught in your driver but its not hard to do it the right way .

yeah thats to keep the outside of the hub clean. u can use a cable tie aswell. as the hub spins the shoelace stays in the one place but moves side to side and keep the shit off.

Pipe cleaners work well too, and they are cheap and can be found at all good craft shops.
They're also easy to put on and easy to replace.

As for your hub, have you got a sealed or unsealed hub?

on the outside of ur hub. tie a shoe lace so its in a ring round it, but make sure the ring can hang down about 1 cm. and then cut off the excess.

and just open up ur hub and clean it with a cloth, carefull incase bearings come out

Open the hub up
Use a rag and some degreaser to clean the insides
Once clean, apply a small amount of grease
Put the hub back together

PS. everyone needs to stop bashing on this kid. He is coming on here to learn, and at one point, you guys were at the same stage. If I have to single any of you guys out, a temporary ban will be placed on your account.
I hate being the bad guy, but some of you guys get out of control from time to time.

Sorry about last night, I was a dick, but you learned didnt you? Just a few of your posts like getting reflectors off pedals, you obviously didn't try before you made a thread and getting your seat lower, if anything l hate a lot, it has to be trend whores. Like this thread is very valid and you ask a good question. Just remember to combine all your topics into one thread and always use the searchbar, after 2-3 years of being on here its annoying seeing the same threads everyday. Anyway, your welcome to stay and I apologize for my immature behavior.

PS. everyone needs to stop bashing on this kid. He is coming on here to learn, and at one point, you guys were at the same stage. If I have to single any of you guys out, a temporary ban will be placed on your account.
I hate being the bad guy, but some of you guys get out of control from time to time.

Are you kidding me? I just apologize and I see this bs. This is a Bmx forum not a fucking school house. I had respect for you, and now you're trying to ban people for bullying. Thats a bit ridiculous.
