CSB but I arrived at my local park today to find out theres competitions all day long for "go skate day" and there was a few bmx competitions aswell. There was honestly only a handful of experienced riders competing including myself and I was in no means the better rider out of any of them.
Anyway, street comp came around and I had like 30seconds to figure out what im going to do so I just kinda did a bunch of bs tricks and didn't land majority of them. Regardless, I got third place (competing against 4 other riders in my skill level.) I won an Animal seat and what not, but the biggest reward was the confidence boost. Ive never really had anyone support my riding, so getting third place in a contest, even though its not much to brag about given the circumstances, made me feel really good and happy with my riding and encouraged me to do better and try new things.
Whats an experience that has had a big impact on your riding and how you feel about your riding?
Oh and I also won a hat from a helmet raffle. The hat and other things given away in the raffle came directly from Tony Hawk himself! Pretty neat!
