TIps? i wanna learn them soon(once it stops raining) but im kinda freaked out by it for some reason.. is it kind of the same position as like a crooked grind? Idk they seem wierd but i dont have pegs so it seems like a logical trick to learn

crooks are like a 25ish degree abgle. cranks are like a 45 degree angle. easy as hell to get into. its the balance that kills me

You just gotta go for it. It's scary the first few times. Try it on the last foot or two of the rail. Also, be sure you're going completely parallel to the rail.

Try to land with the part in between the crank arm and the pedal meet, like right in the middle.
And keep don't hop too hard on them, just try to be as gentle as possible and go at it with more of an angle than a crooked grind.

Big tip don't go at the rail on a angel, find a decent high no to thick rail to learn them on

I've wondered about these as well, but I'm dick footed and I'm scared to hit my sprocket since I'd be doing it with my right foot

I have this same problem, I tried the yesterday on a flat rail type deal, immediately went to the sprocket. It's hard to aim it. The rail was also very low so it might have been impossible anyways

I actually found them a bit easier than I expected (still hard though). I learned them on a stem height downrail that was about 4 feet long. Learning it on the downrail I would just ride pretty slow (1 crank or so), hop straight and then rotate (this delay of the rotation is important otherwise you'll just smash your sprocket), aim my pedal and just kind of pedal down onto the rail and lean forward (leaning forward is actually really important when it comes to downrails).

There's a lot of crankslide how-to's so maybe check them out.
