hahaha, both of my customs cashed in at like 1800, but im a dumbass and order shit when i get drunk....paid like 600 for my wheels. i didnt remember ordering them i just got a package a couple weeks later, nice ass wheels tho.

seriously tho, if you got 2 grand, you can pretty much get anything you want. you dont need to spend 2k on a bike unless you are at least decent on a bike.

Silly question, custom all the way. If you lack skills or knowledge with riding, a complete may be a better choice, because if you find you don't like to ride, you didn't spend 1300 bucks on a bike that will collect dust.

I personally never ever bought a new complete. I got one from my brother for 200 bucks that he had for a year or two, then started swapping out what I broke until I ended up on a bike worth like 1100 bucks. My current setup all brand new would be maybe 900-1100 bucks. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done. For the parts on there and the age of some of them, it is one of the smoother bikes you will find in the area, especially for how I ride it.

You don't need a bike that costs 1800 or 2 grand or anything, if you ride smooth you can get by with less. If you destroy things left and right, use the money to get higher quality stuff.

No matter what you get, the best advice I have is to learn how to properly take care of it. Even if it is a lower end complete, it will last that much longer.

^ agreed. but i bought a old complete and have swapped out everything but the frame and stem pretty much. and the seat. its comfy. but if youre new buy a complete and swap out stuff to make it more suited to you and better as you progress. and take care of it as if it was your life line. = )

If you find a stock bike that basically has everything you want on it, and just replace/upgrade parts as they wear, you'll definitely save some $$ up front. With you situation I would go that route. It's not like you can't ride, but it's been while since you have. After you ride a stock bike you can figure out what you don't like about it, and replace those stock parts, instead of dumping twice as much into a custom and realizing that your $250 wheel isn't quite what you want. I'd go with a good stock to start again.

if you have 2K to spend on a bike, you could build a better custom then most of us on here so i'd go custom if you have the 2K to spend on it....you could build a bad ass bike for like $1200-1500 and still have money left over....

titties and beer > everything

i started years ago with a race bike frame when i was 12....i slowly but surely gathered up parts and knowledge about parts and built a fuckin nice bike....

with the help of people on here you could skip the stock/crap phase and go straight into a bad ass bike

Kink, We The People, Stolen, MirraCo, all the high end models of those bike comps are nice. I'm personally a fan of the Stolen Cheater and WTP Envy.

buy that colony complete or the khe spector. either one is super legit. more like a custom bike then a complete. no "stock" kind of parts on it.
