I recently bought a pair of these cranks, and it was my first 48 spline set of cranks. I was aware you needed grease to put the cranks on, but not aware of how much. To say it simple, I didn't use enough grease, got the cranks on (took quite a while) forgot a spacer, now I can't get them off. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get them off? Thanks.

Put a ratchet extension or something similar in the crank arm, resting against the spindle and hit it with a hammer until the crank arm falls off.

This. You're gonna really really need to whack it and repetatively. have it put up against something like a wooden wall. with your frame resting on the wall so you get a nice sturdy surface for the bike to not move.

ANd the cranks only come with an installer tool, i couldn't get them off with it.

It'd be pretty hard to fit you in the box.

I've been trying this and using the tool for a good 20 minutes straight, so far no progress. Is there anything else you know? Must be like 0 grease just about

Spray some WD40.

Let it sit over-night.

Hammer again.

Try a rubber mallet on the inside of the crank arm. Or try the other crank arm.

Fuck rubber mallets, they absord half the force you put through them. best of with a proper hammer/mallet and a piece of wood.

They are a great tool so you don't damage your parts. The wood absorbs some shock, HOWEVER I have dented parts in the past with that method.
