All is well between Demolition and Enarson, always cool to see peace between brand and ex-rider. I bet we'll see some new signature parts in the near future, you don't really bring someone like Enarson on your team without giving them sone rad parts. Bet we'll see some banger videos as well!

Is Demolition on its way out? I feel like they’ve lost a few riders lately and not really had anyone replace them. I’m not sure I remember seeing any new parts from them recently

Peraza has some parts released recently. They still have a pretty good team. I still remember the team they had in the early 2000s...but yeah, they put out an updated v of their zero rims etc. They aren't releasing stuff as freq as some parts brands, so I can why you would think that. Now that I think about it...Volume is similar, well with their releases. The team has like two pro riders, which I find a bit odd, like why not up some of those am dudes to pro? Odyssey outsells compared to other parts brands, so I'm sure money was a factor in switching too...he's got a family, so gotta think of the future.

They better give Enerson a Signature rim .... Odyssey's rims are lacking nowadays compared to the competition .... Seems Boyd Hilder can blow up a hazard no problem, and personally I've found they to come un-true fairly quickly. And I imagine Enerson needs dependable rims, especially for the type of riding he does. Demolition had big, tough, dependable rims so the switch might be a bit of a letdown unless he runs the 7KA at minimum ....

They need to make a more modern rim that's cross laced. Something like a NASA mixed with a Bondi .... Something that isn't quite Ribcage .... Even if it wasn't cross-laced .... Even the 7KA is only 34mm wide and the hazard is a measly 32mm wide.

Interesting to see though. Hopefully it works out well for him.
And hopefully he does a longer welcome edit later! His riding is always spice!

The hazard lite has much better strength to weight ratio than most rims on the market. The 7ka, and g sport rims are pretty much the only rims that outperform a hazard lite, unless a fair bit heavier (g sport rollcage are 450g, hazard lite and ribcage are 500g, demo zeros are just under 500g but aren't anything special, Merritt battle are 600g and pretty damn tough). If your hazards are coming untrue pretty quickly, find a better wheel builder.
Width definitely isn't the most important factor when it comes to strength either

|

7/13/2022 6:33 AM

The hazards I have are either complete wheels or wheelsets .... Built by odyssey haha .... They are a good/great rim, But could be quite a bit better.

Still gonna be running my chrome hazard wheelset on my newest build anyway though since I'm not Hilder or Enerson anyway.

Just saying Odyssey should used the opportunity to make a beast rim for a beast rider.
They'd make that coin quick.

Dennis is a good rider but you seem to be forgetting the odyssey team is stacked with heavy hitters. I don't see him with signature rim...when was the last time a co gave a pro a sig rim? It will be the usual...stem, bars, grips, seat prob a tire and a run of a sprocket...but at the same time, they only know.

Cool to see Dennis running a gyro again. Feels nostalgic of him of his early years.

It's machine built. Checking the spoke tension is your responsibility. You can't blame a rim for becoming slightly untrue if you don't maintain it yourself.

You’re not wrong about them selling well. People love rims that are 5 ounces heavier but not any stronger for some fucking reason.

|

7/13/2022 11:30 AM

I agree with SUNDAYFANDAY. The Hazards do come untrue fairly soon. At least for me and I'm no pro rider. Got them trued a couple months ago and they untrued with less than 10 sessions. They still are a great rim though.

I will say though as I have no bias. Being that I have a WTP complete and Sunday complete, I've had experience with both the Bondi and Hazard Lites. The Bondis IMO are highly under rated. If I was completely honest, I would even put them above the Hazard Lites and up there with the 7ka. Being a bigger guy, I've never felt them flex one bit and have only had to true them once even though I ride them way more than my Hazard Lites.

Neither. But you're implying zero rims are special, because Ennerson rode them for over a decade.
I just don't buy into this "this pro rides this part, so it must be good" bullshit. They get it for free. I know, for a fact, that some pro's go through parts almost weekly. But they endorse them, because that's their job. And they get them for free.

How is “plain old Demo Zero rims” at all implying that they are special? You have clearly misunderstood what I’ve wrote.

The only thing that I was implying at all is that Demo Zero rims held up fine for him for 10+ years. And those rims are basic as can be! Which means he will be more than well off on Odyssey/G-Sport rims & won’t likely be needing a signature rim from them, as implied above in this thread.

What the hell is that supposed to mean dude?😂

You read my response wrong and took it in a way that it wasn’t wrote, so that’s terms for bringing my shop’s legitimacy into question?

Nice dude. Hope you have a better rest of your day, cause this ain’t it.👍🏻

Also, why does this conversation have to turn into a pissing match? I never questioned or mentioned either of our knowledge on the matter. Why would you bring it up?

Isn't in some way implying they're good rims? Argue the semantics if you want. Be pedantic if you want. I merely pointed out that he gets them for free, which doesn't mean they're good, or any better than 90% of the rims on the market

Nope you’re choosing to take that comment in a totally different direction than it was typed. And even if that is what I meant, that is no reason for you to bring my shop into the matter. The shop that I use to give back to BMX every single chance I get. Not cool dude.

Once again, LITERALLY the only thing that was implied in that comment was that the Zero Rims are basic af and he still rode them without complaint for 10+ years. “Plain old” is not a synonym for “special” or “good” in any version of the English language that I’m aware of.

Just to spell it out for you one more time;
If he could ride those NOT SO GREAT Rims for 10+ years, he can ride for Odyssey for a little while without needing a signature rim.
That’s it - and I honestly don’t care whether you agree with that or not.. it’s all speculation anyways. So don’t twist up my words and come at me sideways because of your inability to understand what I’ve wrote.

I took it to a Bmx specific shop. He trued both my Hazard Lites and Bondi rims together. As I said in my post , even though I ride my Bondis way more, they last much longer before I need to do them again compared to the Hazard Lites. Again, as someone that paid his own money, I'm stating my opinions based on my own experience with the two. Nothing more, nothing less.
