So I am thinking about getting a gyro, but I want my brakes to work good. I'm thinking of getting the m2 lever with the dual upper cables, Odyssey gtx detangler, snafu dual lower cables, and the ghost pads. What I'm wondering is if dual lower cables with London mod is better than a Y lower cable? and if The Ghost pads are any good or if i should just get some real sized pads?

London mod will last longer

Ghost pads are okay but one person I know with them squeaks A LOT. London mod would be a good bet too, I don't know much about gyros but I know a lot of them never feel too good, even brand new. Takes a bit of work to get them dialed in & feel good

Everything is good but I had bad experience with the Snafu cables and heard poorly about the ghost pads. Change it to..

Odyssey m2
34r upper detangler plate
Odyssey GTX detangler
x2 Odyssey Slic cable
Odyssey London Mod
Eclat Force pads

They are more dialed in with some lubrication in the cables and decent fork spacing. If you cut your fork steer tube and slam it, you might be in some trouble and need a fork to totally dial things in.

I run:

Odyssey M2 lever
Odyssey dual uppers
ORYG gyro
Snafu lowers
TRP Sealed bearing brake
Odyssey clear pads.

Stops on a dime with no squeak but i have been working on brakes for a long time if you need help just ask.

Ghost pads stop just like any other brake pads if not better. They dont squeak hardly at all even in clear IF you install them the right direction. If you install them the other direction they squeal like all hell. Atleast I liked mine but I wanted that sexy squeak clear pads have until one week later the squealing got annoying and I had already given away the ghost pads.

I have about 4ish mm of spacers. Also how do you lubricate brakes? Any tips on cleaning the rim/pads.

Pick up a bottle of one of these
http://www.danscomp.com/products-TOOLS/811130/Finishline_Krytech_Lube.html & http://www.danscomp.com/products-TOOLS/811334/White_Lightning_Oil.html and just drip a few drops into the hole at the end of the cables every few weeks or so (or if your brakes feel like theyve got alot of friction in them.)
As for cleaning, I just use a rag and any cleaning solution (Lysol, Windex, etc.) I THOROUGHLY scrub them once every two months to remove all the black residue and then I use an electric sander to rough up the wall of my rim for better braking power.

This, and I use rubbing alcohol. Cheaper than windex and usually dries faster!

yeah I've got the white lightening one for my chain. I've heard about rubbing hot glue sticks on your rims? does that work

That sounds incredibly stupid. It would be like waxing your rim. It would just leave residue all over your rim which is the stuff you try to get rid of by cleaning the rim. Not to mention a ton of dirt would get caked in it.

Yeah I don't know how it would work. I read it in Chris Courtenays Q&A. But I will definitely try to just clean the rim and lube the brakes.
