Ive never noticed this until now: one of my bikes has a larger dust cover than the other. One is 45mm and the other is 48mm.... Most bikes ive seen have a smaller one but im looking for a taller 48mm dust cap.

Are you looking for a perfect fitting cap for cosmetic reasons? If not, you dont really need to even run a dust cap as long as your bearings have the dust shield in place.

Try a mtb one. They're 48mm w/ a 1/18 bore if I'm not mistaken.

What brand is the 48mm? I don't know anything about this but I'm curious.

I installed the 45mm on the 48mm and it looked funky

A lot of Freestyle BMX companies use thinner caps to clear Gyro Detanglers. Other companies such as Origin may not take detanglers into consideration when designing their products.
