Different link combinations in a chain.

So do any of you guys run different kinds of links in a chain due to it being too short or whatever? I know some people do for color reasons. My OCD is really killing me cause I just got a KMC 710-SL to upgrade from my trust KMC Z 410 and it was too short so I threw in a Cult 510 link and two Stolen Balland links, finished off with a KMC master link. And the chain was not even lubed that well so it's already starting to squeak a tiny bit and my OCD to fully soak it in oil is killing me cause there's gonna be oil in the hollow side plates and it's gonna really piss me off. All of my chains are always fully lubed/greased and wiped dry of all excess.

yeah its fine if u have different links as long as their all 1/8th chains your good some people do that to get their wheel in the right spot on their dropouts like em i have done this to make my back end longer and ive had the same chain for a year or so now because my sprockets a weird size so it only works with THAT chain witch is really annoying and it hasnt had any problems as long as you reguraly clean/lube your chain you should be good go to your local lbs and buy soem degreaser i reccomend finish line and get some of their lube dippending on wat conditions u ride in it can defer wat kind u want and maybe get their grunge brush to clean off the sand and dirt that accumallates on ur chain and ur chains can last MUCH much longer
