I'm new to this, so I've a bit of a conundrum here...had originally been looking at the Kink Gap XL or the Sunday AM+

The Gap XL seems like a decent all-around beginner bike. The Sunday AM+ has fully sealed hubs, front AND back. Neither of those are in stock at any BMX shop near me so would have to be ordered, however one of the shops has the 2013 Gary Young AM which is murder on my eyeballs, I hate the paint scheme.

The guy also showed me a Fit BF2, which I thought looked sexy as hell, sealed front and rear hubs, but it says CrMo front triangle...usually I see CrMo top and downtube - what does that mean - front triangle?

Lastly, I figured for the price the Fit is (which is the absolute top of my price range, I'm only a beginner), I may as well look at the WTP Liberty, since they have a good rep and that bike looks real nice although it doesn't have a sealed front hub.

Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm not looking to be the next Pro, just want to learn some tricks, maybe hit up the local park for some light, fun stuff.

Also just noticed this:

Sealed everything, double wall rims, 100% Chromoly...too good to be true at $439?

Out of those, I'd definitely go or the Fit if you could afford it. I would say the amber, but their site has been down for a long time so idk what's going on with them. A Cro-Mo front triangle is when the Headtube, toptube, down tube, seat tube, are all cromo.

The Amber site works fine for me? Another thing - the vessel says "light street and dirt riding". What makes that difference...the tires? Everything else looks the same geometry wise as a full Amber street bike.

Also, thanks for your reply!

The amber site works, but the veinbmx site where you have to purchase it at is down. Also there really isn't that much difference between the two.

Nice, thanks! The store I visited yesterday actually had the BF2 so I think I'll go back after work today and take a spin on it.

Would not recommend buying an Amber complete. Their hubs are complete garbage. The bearings blow, the axles bend, the wheel will wobble, it's just all around horrible. This not only happened to me but all of my friends as well.

I don't get how you can have a fully cromo frame with double wall rims in the Fit and pay only $10 more than the WTP which doesn't have those...is it just the name you pay for or what? Again, I'm new to this so I don't get it.

wtp is exactly that its the name i heard there very good bikes but yeah the amount you spend you can get a cheaper bike with sealed and double wall and chromo everything

WTP/Eclat/Salt/SaltPlus are imported from Germany. That's how. Same was true of the Colony stuff until they opened an office here in the states. It has nothing to do with the name, but the WTP stuff is top notch.
