Hey guys. I'm just getting into BMXing. I'm 26yrs old 220lbs 5'10- I've been reading a lot about chromoly frames, but alotbof the bikes I've been seeing at my local BMX shop are partial chromolly. ( TT, Forks, etc..) I'm in Canada so prices are pretty steep. The majority of the full chromolly WTP and Sunday colleges are over $800. Is it Worth it if I'm starting out? Here is the website for my local BMX shop- http://www.3ride.com/v2/
I hope to pick a bike up this Sunday, unless they have to ship one in. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cromoly means durability, but to start riding it´s not necessary, so take a good complete and upgrade it when something break.
Spare parts are pretty expensive but they last years so you'll not spend money every month for your bike.

being a larger guy who's just starting so you won't be very smooth i personally would say go for full chromoly as first priority. as you get more confident and try bigger stuff the last thing you want is your frame or fork to snap.

They have this:

Full crmo, all bearings sealed, decent top tube length and the 2 colors that are on sale are the cooler looking ones. I don't know much about Colony completes but the specs are real good for the price. I'd just replace the seat immediately because it looks cheap and horrible.

If your in Canada get a gt rob wise signature from sport chek , probably best bang for your buck with a full chromoly bike, that or a mongoose mode 900 from wall mart

Go for chromoly. No point in getting a bike thats not and upgrading it, then you would have a crappy frame with nice parts. Pay the extra for the chromoly, I got a 24" Felt Brink 2011 and its still going strong. Dents in the drop outs and all.
