Do bike shops usually charge you for pumping tire?

I usually fill up my tires at the service station, but I'm going to be using my new hawks, and I don't want to fuck them up.
Should I go to my lbs and pump it using an actual bike tire pump with the psi meter?

Has anyone who ever done this been charged by the shop? Because I know how some bike shops pretty much almost charge you for placing a foot in their store.

This. But i'd just buy a pump. Because if you get a flat ever or change your wheels then your going to have to go back up there.

They shouldn't, but you should just buy a floor pump for yourself from them, get a good one that'll last years.

No, they don't charge me for any maintenance. I just use a floor pump, it's easier.

most service stations will only pump a tire up to like 60 psi....

I have nothing against pegs at all, I don’t think you’re dumb if you ride pegs, I don’t care about your pegs, they are just pegs! What I do hate is the fact that every person in BMX hops on this bandwagon of three pegs, and beanies, and weed, and hop-over grinds… It’s just sad that the pros who influence kids are more worried about looking cool than the kids themselves! Just because it says 100 PSI, doesn't mean they will fill to 100 on any Pump, nor do you need to pump up to 100. My 100PSI Aitken is at ~70, and my 60PSI Dirt Monster is at ~55, but I have had it at 65 before (Which admittedly isn't recommended).

Seriously. I run my tires somewhere in between 70-85 psi

No a bike shop shouldn't charge you to pump some tire up, yes you should buy your own pump, no you don't have to fill them to the recommended max PSI. Why didn't you just go to the shop and check real quick? Doing things for yourself is rewarding and gets things done much faster.

Tell me how you would be messing your tires up by pumping them?

this is what i was thinking. a pump is a pump, your tires arent gunna get messed up unless you somehow manage to mess up inflating them

Because it was like 2 am

Yeah you can cause the tire & tube to like pop for no reason sooner because your not supposed to use an electric pump because it fills brand new tires and tubes too fast.
That being said I used to put my pump on 100psi/s and the tubes would randomly pop after a few days in the most random places.
I put my pump at 80 psi/s to kinda let them stretch & get to shape and havent had problems.

God.. I loved my Chase Hawk tire in the front. Having any PSI over 65, the tire would be so thick, it'd feel like 100 PSI touching the tire with your hand everything. But forreal though, don't go to 100. It'll feel like complete shit.

Ok then I'll go 80 psi I guess.

I pump my tyres up to 80 at my local and it looks like the meter would keep going past 120
