Yes you need one your headset will be loose without it. Ive seen people take them off after tighting it down but I don't suggest it

Ok so a guy on craigslist is selling some parts including a fork it a kink fork that does have the fork bolt. My question is should I buy it I already got some stolen forks but I just need a fork bolt. He selling the fork for 25.00 yes or no on buying it.

Which kink forks? If they are the stock ones then pass.

Tree makes top caps for different types of threads in different types of forks. I suggest looking at those to see if they make on for it.

They are the kink foundation he said they got some scape Scratche from riding but they still rideable.

The kink foundation forks use a 25x1.5mm fork bolt and they're pretty easy to find https://www.danscomp.com/search/fork%20bolt.html

Looks like the Foundation uses the same size compression bolt as the Stolen forks listed on Dan's. Might as well buy the fork for $25 and use that compression bolt. Then you have an extra fork in case you ever need it too vs. paying $10-$15 for a compression bolt+shipping
