Does A Game Of BIKE Determine If One Rider Is Better Than Another?

Does it? In my opinion, it can and can't. It all just depends on what you think is better. When I play BIKE with my good friend Chaz, he can do tiny little one handers, while I can do almost fully extended ones. He can do very good no footers and one footers and stuff, where as, I have a hard time getting my feet off. When I do succeed, there's barely any extension, but it counts! Now we both can get these very different tricks but we just can't do them that well! Now our games of BIKE are usually pretty close (More often than not I lose) but does that make him better than me? Possibly. Chaz is a great rider and he has quite a few tricks on me but I don't think that our games of BIKE can determine who has the superior skill. Do you guys think that BIKE is a good way to see who is better?

Not really. I determine how good a rider is based on tricks, style, and personality. If someone wins a game of BIKE and then gets all arrogant and cocky about it, i would probably say the other rider is "better".Plus some people are just really good at BIKE. They have a few tricks no one ever does on lock, but their overall riding isn't that great.

"What makes a rider better?" is the first question to answer this.

The skill set between both riders can be COMPLETELY different. It's like saying, "let's make Benny Lewis play a game of BIKE with Daniel Dhers!" They both conquer their type of riding.

Me and LJ (as you know) play BIKE a lot. He is a lot more park than me (even tho he is chainless, etc.) and a lot of the park and quarter pipe stuff he does is hard for me. Does that make him a better rider? No. Only at that setting. Give me a box and a few rails and some steps and i may beat him without getting one letter.

BIKE is really a test of how well you can ride a certain environment. That's why it is such a fun game.

Also, remember at Wheelmill? There was a kid that could destroy all the spines and quarters, but couldn't fakie for shit? Yeah, he could go do a big turndown air, but i could do a 360 to fakie below coping and he couldn't. BMX isn't about a rider being better, it is just about having fun. If you ask me, if you have the most fun, you are a better rider.

(I am a big fan of BIKE)

Nope. like said above it could just be that the other person just isn't in their comfort zone riding what ever your playing BIKE in and the other guy is. it could also just be that one of them isn't competitive, ive known alot of guys that were great at something but when it came down to doing it against someone they could do it worth shit

If you're riding to be "better" than someone else, you're riding for the wrong reasons.

The better rider is the one who can win or lose a game of BIKE and not let it affect their self-esteem.

I think a game of bike is the best way but who really cares if someone is better then you really.

Every time i go to the local indoor i usually play a game of bike with a few of the homies. Most of which ride at a higher or equal caliber to me. We tend to use the game to work on each other weak points.

We will intentionally set a trick we know the other persons been working on that we know we can do.

So like my homie set a manny to feeble to smith because he knew i had been trying to dial those in etc.

we kind of use it as a training tool and turn it into our own little "shit" talking match and we hardly keep "score"

Everyone here relies on bitch tricks like random footjam combos and shit just because they feel like winning is the most important thing. No one realizes that it's really just a training tool.

There's so many factors to winning a game and you can't ever really determine who is "better". Someone could play dirty knowing the other person's limits and do stuff they can't even attempt. And most of the time, some people just get real unlucky and can't land the stuff that they usually have dialed. The possibilities in a game of BIKE are limitless..

Yes and no. Yes if one person does tricks the other can't, BUT everyone progresses differently, so who knows.

But it could also mean one person is having a bad day too. I have played games where I was normally able to land truckdrivers and various other things to win, and had other games against the same people where I just couldn't land them and lost.
