I'm thinking of shortening my chainstays, so that I can run the wheel slammed without using a half link.. b/c I've had weird experiences with them.. would this type of modification void the warranty?

Kinda thought so.. I been running the same KMC z410 chain for over a year with no problems.. except I've broken several half links.. and I know I installed them correctly. oh well.. gotta be more careful, I guess.. thanks.

File the dropout. I think scramhype did it with his Stranger frame.

Not really, unless you are taking like a half inch out

Yes. I don't think any company would let you slide on something like that.

is having a slammed wheel really worth cutting the chainstays??? if you want to land of a jump and have your rearend falloff go for it. but this is one of the dumbest things ive ever heard

Just use a normal chain and put 1 half-link in it.
Are you sure you even need a half link?

Contact the company and find out? Every company is different about that type of stuff. But usually if the warranty claim is a result of the mods, it is void. I know a few companies are ok with it as long as you do a GOOD JOB of it.

How long is a chain link? 3/8"? Is that gonna make any difference in your riding ability?
