So as the tital states i'm doing up my boss's daughters 18 bmx for her and she wants pink spokes but ill need 160 & 162mm spokes for it and can't find any anywhere. Would i beable to buy any old new 184mm spoke or such and cut it to size and then rethread it and work fine, or where could i find spokes this size in pink?

Thanks alot guys.

I have no idea. You could try calling Albes or something and see if they can help you out, but idk how they go about sending stuff to Australia, if they even do.

You could see if a local shop has a spoke cutter/threader. We have one here at the shop that cuts them & rethreads the end but they cost A LOT of money so it wouldn't be practical to buy one just for one time use.

Awwww yeah man and thanks. I've got a heap of taps for wouldn't mind buying myself another one for this and alot of the time when i want to buy spokes they aren't the right size so i can't buy them so this would be good. Thanks for that.

I've messaged empire about it too to see if they can do anything.

yeah if you thread them properly, they'll last. All mine were cut/re-threaded & I've never had issues with them snapping or stripping in the nipples. Just make sure you use some form of spoke prep or oil or something similar on the threads and you should be fine

You can get a manual threader for like 175 USD. They last a LONG time, but you would have to cut em manually, and doing up 36 spokes this way takes several hours.

This. Buy some stainless spokes and get them powdercoated. Im sure you could get them powdercoated for dirt cheap if you find a place that is already powdercoating something else the same color.

Okay thats a stupidly good idea. Her spokes are pretty battared because she used to not look after it at all and they would put sticks in the spokes whilst riding (as kids would) So does anyone know where i can get 160mm and 162mm spokes?
