I know Danscomp does, or at least did when I ordered wheels through them several years ago, but Empire I'm not sure. Doubt it though since all their wheels they post to instagram don't ever have one. Just buy a pair.

Ya Dans does, just got my wheels last Friday and they had strips on them. Also not trying to promote Dans, but they have 15% off orders right now.

Is a free wheel build not enough? You still want more free stuff my local shop charges $50 per wheel just to build.

He could be asking if they do so he knows whether or not he should add some to his cart when he places his order. It's only a few bucks for a pair of rim strips but if they give a free one with them anyway, that's still saving a few bucks he could save for other things

if you must use a ghetto trick, use hockey tape, not electrical tape. electrical tape stretches and deforms over the spoke holes. hockey tape (or any thick cloth tape, you lbs should have the road bike stuff too) doesn't stretch so it deforms less and is less likely to cause a flat.

Just use duct tape I use a good amount of layers and they've never poked out or gotten loose

That black guerilla tape works great, and you only need one layer (rotating weight yo!). It also comes in 1 inch rolls.
