So I've always noticed that most fat seats will say they have a "fat capital design" (Fiend seat, Macneil, Premium, etc) and some seats will just say extra thick padding (like the Sexton seat, Solace seat...) what is a Fat Capital design?

It's the original Fat Pivotal seat. Basically when Macneil originated the pivotal seat they had 3 base the OG which is still used mainly for Flatland seats. The Capitol which is still used mainly for seats such as the Shadow Conspiracy Slim seats & then the Fat Capitol seat which is basically a Capitol base with a lot more padding. Like you said the Fiend, Premium, FBM etc. Then you have a few companies that have made their own bases like Odyssey, Eclat & Animal.
