Hopped on my bike. Everything felt great , super dialed to my extent. Felt amazing , was itching to try this coaster.
They are REALLY fun. But no joke , they feel WEIRD. I ordered a coaster with no experience , so it was a different feeling. I love fakies and 180's , so I was really happy to try one. But you can not image HOW MUCH pedal pressure you use while riding. Everything is different , no joke. Bunnyhops are different , manuals are different , even hopping back into a bank is sketchy because your inside foot uses pedal pressure when you land.
Not a bad thing though ,just REALLY unusual. I could not 180 or do most of my tricks for the day. Half cabbing out of a fakie is a bit too scary / weird for me. It's extremely difficult trying to fakie out of a 180 without pedal presure ; I will have to learn to slider or as I mentioned , just half cab out. I did manage to fakie ride a fair bit , they're easy. I probaly got maybe 3-4 parking spaces one time , it's definately fun when you're coasting backwards and just are like "Damn !" and you seize up trying to keep control. I even got some fakie lines , and I'd turn about 90 degrees from where I started , so if I do get half cabs I can use it to my advantage , maybe over obstacles .
SLACK is different as well , I have a quarter crank. Pedalling is different , but you get used to it really quickly. It's just something you get used to. Not anything to consider before you buy one , it's just a neutral addition to a coaster. IT is annoying though when you're going backwards and then it enages -__- Sometimes you know your slack is about to engage so your feet aren't parrallel to the ground ; one cranks might be at the ground and one will be facing up. I changes footjams to fakie ; which are my favourite trick.
Anyways , that's my first time on one. I hope people who want one with this coaster trend will appreciate this thread. They're not really different but they are in a sense.
