I'm looking into getting them but want to know how durable they are. I've had plastic guards that were durable and other ones that would crumble like bread. I know hardbmxtim has them so I'm awaiting his response. I only want an answer if you have a freeemix guard.

i have the non drive side freemix guard on my demo rotator, and its solid and i havent seen any damage to it. the metal core helps, and its decently thick as well. id recommend them

I had the Primo DSG and it rubbed against my chain constantly and was just a pain in the ass most of the time.

its not at all
the dsg is smooth plastic, the freemix is a lot different textured and material
i feel like the dsg was a lot more malleable and bent more
the freemix one doesnt

I guess now I just need to know 2 things.

1. is it a full metal core or just a plastic guard that slides over the hardware it comes with?

2. Does the freemix dsg clear a 9t driver or does it have to wear in like a universal dsg?

1. its a cone nut thats stepped for the guard to snap on to. the dropouts dont really tighten on the plastic, more so the metal so that the guard doesnt just crush
2. i would assume so, because noone uses anything but 9t anymore, but i dont grind drive side so idk

My first experience with plastic guards was an Animal PYN and BSD Barrier. Both snapped/cracked in weeks. So far ive got a few weeks on the primos and theyre holding up great. Minimal wear, no cracks. Theyre kinda spongey feeling compared to the alloy center guards so i believe that helps a bit in keeping them from cracking. DSG fits my 9t and 410H perfectly. Also really thick! Would definitely recommend.

Yes the replacement sleeves are pretty cheap which is nice as a worst case scenario

I am about to get the front primo wheel today, they sell replacement front guards right? Because the front guard ones suck.

The n4fl v2 ones? I've got the v1 metal guards and I've never had a problem. The daily grind front guards work as well because it's for 15mm axLes

sup big dog, figured i can help you out with this answer. i have a federal freecoaster v3 female axle, all i do is grind shit all day. i scooped up the primo freemix guards and they've been fantastic. i have both the drive and non drive side. the locknut didnt fit on my federal coaster so i just filed out the non drive side until it fit flush over the locknut. i've been running them since probably july. i just scooped up the new bsd non drive side for khe coasters since it won't rub against my wheel like my makeshift primo guard does. still havent broken a spoke in that wheel. cheers homie
