I have a BSD front street hub, the bearings haven't been greased in a year, so I took off the cones and now it's just the axle, it can move left to right, I greased them up (didn't take them out - just the outside) I put the right cone on first and pressed it in, I think I tightened it a bit now the bearings on the left are sticking out a bit? How do I fix it

well, how much grease did ya use? grease does have a thickness, its gotta take up some room....

try taking it out and wiping a little of the grease out, and see if it fits better, if its not good after that, it might be time to head up to your lbs

tiny bit of WD40 on a cotton swab then rubbed it around the outside of the hub, only using WD40 until I can find some 3 in 1 grease

never heard of 3in1 grease, heard of 3-1 oil....

Finish line grease works hell any kinda grease will really work... best off with a water resistant grease. cheapest thing at a hardware store will even work. course the nicer and more expensive the grease the better, but hey its freakin grease.

if thats the case maybe a cone washer isnt turned the right way or is contacting the hub off slightly, just play around with it, it'll get their eventually.

I meant 3 in 1 oil, not 3 in 1 grease tongue

I'll mess around with the hub and see what I can do

This

WD-40 is a degreaser and will destroy your bearings

WD-40 is an OIL and acceptable on a chain, but any bearings need GREASE, and WD-40 will remove it all

Idiot just take it out and make sure nothing is blocking it then tighten your axle nut all the way

Fixed it :

Removed all the WD40

Hammered the bearings onto the axle equally : problem solved
