Nikons are more user friendly and easier to setup than cannons. Almost every bmx photographer uses nikon. And it's all about practice, flashes, and all the other little things yon use to set up for a picture

That's why you buy a good slr camera, a tripod and have your friend just push the shutter button. Learn about using flashes, ISO, aperature and all those things first.

I have the nikkon D5000 I love it..
honestly would not have reccomended the D-40 for your application.
My D5000 has 4.5 frame a second and Is considered "a great camera with amazing night, and sport shooting."However It simply is not instant engagement on the shutter and is so lagging that snapping tuck no's and things like that are going to be very difficult...

As far as artistic shooting goes it should be fine for you......

IDK man I dont consider myself "pro" but I like to think I know my stuff....

So message me with any questions and I have a few pics I took on my profile go look....keep in mind there old.
