I have a sony A55 camera and I am looking to buy a wide angle/fisheye to use. Im not going to be purchasing many lenses so I want one that it pretty versatile and not much money. I need a lens with auto focus obviously for filming. Do you guys have any suggestions? if you have any examples of what you shot with your lens that'd be great.

Filming with autofocus is the most sketchy thing I've heard all year.

Also:
no lens fits the criteria of versatile and fisheye
fisheye is only for up close shots

I know absolutely nothing about Sony Cameras, but I use a Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 HD fisheye with my Canon 60D.

No fisheye for filming (fisheye for stills works sometimes), no auto focus, if you want auto focus use a smrtfone.

IMO fisheye lenses are used by inexperienced film makers in an attempt to add some "creativity" to their edits. But 99% of the time it looks terrible. I think the skate world brought that over (thanks guys...). If an edit starts with a fisheye shot I turn it off. When I started filming and playing with cameras I thought they were awesome but after studying the craft a little I realized how awful they really are.

A lot of people have trouble using the diaortion of fisheyes to make things look good

But at school I use a t5i with either a telephoto lens or a fixed length lens for interviews and close ups
