Angle iron won't slide?

Hello. I have built a grind box, attached the angle iron and everything, there's only one problem: the angle iron won't slide. I've sanded and grinded down the angle iron as smooth as possible, but it still won't slide at all unless I basically coat the ledge in oil (no exaggeration). I have seen skatepark ledges and other grind boxes, and the angle iron slides much better, some without any wax at all. So my question is: how do I get my angle iron to slide well? (yes, I have tried going faster, it still just sticks.)

i know you said oil but have you tried using wax? i think wax works much better (just use a candle if you can't find any wax), i used to use oil back in the days when i just learnt how to grind and all it did was make my clothes dirty when i mess up and fall on it lol. and I don't know what your skill level is but if you're putting your pedal down on the box when grinding then that could make you stick too so try not to do that.

Make sure it's not that cheap paper thin aluminum angle sheeting stuff, it doesn't hold wax at all and bends and throws you off

Post photos if you can, that will help us see the issue. It could be several things. If it is steel, WAX IT. If it is aluminum, that's the issue.

Also if it is mounted flush with the wood, your pegs could be digging into the wood.

Lots of variables, post some photos of the box, and if you can, a video of trying to grind it. It could even boil down to how you land on it.

If there are screws poking out that could also be your problem

No, It is not angle aluminum. At first that's what I had on because I had it just laying around, but as expected. it was shit. Here are some pictures of the iron: Photo

Is the angle flush with the wood on top? I'd bet your pegs are digging or catching on the wood.

Wax it up too.

It is the pegs catching the wood. You can see indents from the end of the pegs in the second pic

I'm on the vital legit list!

Wax the shit out of it. No reason that shouldn't be sliding great

Wax it. my old grind box didn't slide for shit when it was brand new, the angle iron wasn't touching the wood either. Just didn't slide. I waxed the fuck out of it, and it slid really good for years until the wood finally rotted haha.

Thanks guys, I tried waxing it a lot and it slid better. The pegs sometimes dig into the wood, but I think that's mostly from how I'm jumping on it; I'm not that good at grinding yet.

Don't lean so far into it, try to keep your bike as straight up as possible. Possibly come towards it at a straighter angle. As far as the going faster aspect, it shouldn't take you more than 1/2 a crank to slide that. My girl's cousin has an 8' grind box and it only takes me a 1/4 crank to grind end to end and my style isn't smooth at all. Lol
