Gsport Ratchet issue?

Got my ratchet today and laced it up. Spins great. When installed it spins very smoothly but slowly comes to a stop. Should I be worried about this? Or do I just need to break it in? My hubguard, brake pads, and tire arent rubbing btw.
Im using a Daily Grind LT guard with a thick set of spacers to keep it from rubbing the spokes.

is it too tight? is it hard to pedal or something? if there is some type of friction then there is something wrong.

How is it slowly coming to a stop an issue that's the physics of friction......if it where to quickly come to a stop I could see that being an issue

It uses press fit hardware so it cant be over tightened (unless something is the wrong size.) Pedals like a dream and rolls INCREDIBLY smooth, but doesn't stay rolling.

And yeah eskimo it slowly comes to a stop quickly lol. It doesn't just like stop, it rolls really smooth and and consistently comes to a stop. Idk quite how to explain it! If I give it a few good pedals, it will spin for like a minute, compared to like the 5minutes my previous hub would do.

Id say the spings are new and stiffer so they slow it quickly. Your old ones springs are well broken in and put on less resistance. I think. This was an educated guess.

Nah lol. It spins forever when uninstalled.

I heard elsewhere that when using a Daily Grind guard , it happens with alot of hubs. I'm pretty sure SundayBMX had the same issue with his BSD hub that had a daily grind

It doesn't replace the hardware though so I dont see why it would? That was his front hub wasnt it? The DG fronts replace hardware. The Gsport hardware sitting against the hubguard washers should be any different than it sitting against the frame dropouts, right?

That's so retarded.. G sports don't roll for long when broken in, so before being broken they are shit at spinning..

I think there's something wrong. Like the hardware is ever so slightly too long for the axle causing it to push down on the bearing. Or it just needs to be broken in idk lol.

im assuming by the sound of it that it just needs to be broken in

Thats what im hoping for. It just has a surprisingly short spin time. Doesn't FEEL like anything is wrong. But I guess we'll find out.

If it rolls for a minute then you should be good. Try greasing it if you're really concerned. It will get better after riding it I think. and yah it was his front hub , thanks for the correction.

When I got my rachet it did the same thing
The bearings are oversized so you have to break them in

My hub was machined wrong, I have proof of it too. The center axle was machined wrong, and I'm gonna assume the hub shell was too since the axle was. Not the guards fault as far as I know.

But yeah like everyone said, it needs broken in. If it persists, then it's too tight. Press fit hardware can still be overtightened if you crank the fuck out of it

Well since I was lucky enough to end up with a slammed wheel, I didnt tighten it as much as I normally would because I figure it wont slip anyway. But I did tighten it enough! I wouldn't have just left it loose lol

Yeah female axle hubs don't need tightened as much, a lot more grab in the axle

Well thanks for the help homie. I guess I was just over reacting and need to break it in.

No problem I'd be a bit sketched out too if something brand new seemed messed up, part of the reason I was so sketched out about my BSD hub. I waited for it to break in, and it never did haha.

If your issue persists though after a few days hit up George at G-Sport, seems like it won't though Roqfan had the same experience.

Yeah chuck said his was the same. The grounds covered in a foot of snow so I didn't have to chance to ride on it! Hopefully soon.

Try installing it without the hubguard?

Maybe you stretched the frame making the dropouts uneven thus putting uneven pressure on the press fit hardware.
