so im thinking about getting new tires because my wethepeople feelin tires are worn down and dont really have any grip anymore..
Im thinking about trying out the cult gum Tires, not the slick ones tho.
Do they wear down faster than regular tires? Or is it just the same compund But in a different color?

Gum is actually the natural color of rubber.
May be my imagination, but it seems to be stickier.
I dunno bout wear though. Ridden some but not on my bike.
What I could find May or May not help:
From Wikipedia...
The tread is made of butyl rubber that often includes additives such as carbon black, which gives it its characteristic color, and silicon. These additives improve wear resistance usually at the expense of traction. Some tires have a dual-compound tread that is tougher in the middle and grippier on the edges.[19] Many modern tires are available with treads in a variety or combination of colors.[20][21] Road racing tires with different tread compounds for the front and rear have been developed, attempting to provide more traction in front and less rolling resistance in the rear.[22]

Gum is the name of the compound. It is much softer and tackier than the average compound used for tires/grips. In sense, it should wear faster because of this, but alot of people have told me their gum grips last longer than their black versions of the same grips, so idunno. My friends gum tires attract dirt/dust like no other. I would suggest against them if you ride anywhere slick or dusty, theyre the way to go otherwise.
My only personal experience with gum is the gum soles on my shoes. Theyre much more grippy than black soled versions of the same shoes, but they also get torn apart much easier.

I really like Cult Deharts in general. My brother's got them in gum and I have them in black. We really like them so I would recommend them. My brother and I are married to the streets and he has brakes and his tires aren't too bad yet. So I would get them.

I ave the gum ones. They were kinda slippery at first but now they grip like a motherfucker on street
Edit: now I know why they call them gum tires. Never knew it was for the compound, always thought it was the color

I thought that too, so I couldn't figure out why the Cult Vans grips are brown and the Dehart tires are yellow, even though they are both gum.

I have had the Cult Deharts in Gum for awhile. I feel as though they are very sticky and they grip a lot better than regular tires on rough surfaces like in the streets and some concrete skate parks, though they can be really slippery on polished or slick parks along with wood parks and dirt. They are really predictable for things like tire slides and wall rides, you can really lock in on wall rides. As for the compound the tires are made out of, it is a lot softer than regular tires so they tend to wear out a lot quicker than and feel softer while riding, very smooth.
