Gyro help!

About a month ago I installed an Odyssey gyro on my Kink Whip. The instructions stated that I needed a certain length of fork tube available to make the brake work correctly. My tolerances were a bit under, so figured I could make it work anyway.

I was able to get everything dialed in but couldn't ride due to weather. I took it out for a spin yesterday and I do not have the braking power I should have, almost like I don't have enough travel in the gyro to lock up. Is there anything I can do, or should I remove the gyro?

Do you have pictures? I'm guessing the gyro is hitting the top/upper plate which is preventing you from pulling the cable further?
