So somehow my buddy managed to get my axle nut completely stuck/cross threaded on my profile ti hollow axle. I had leverage for days trying to turn the fucker and back it out but it hasn't even turned a little. Managed to "cut" the bolt off but my threads are mangled. Is there any way to remove threads up to the good ones?

I'm guessing you didn't have Ti anti seize on your threads. Prob going to have to cut the nut off and hope you don't fuck the threads

I'm a punk bmxer, I can't do it well so I do it loud.

You can try cleaning up the threads with a dye. If you don't have one, you can always bring the axle in to your local bike shop for them to take a look at.

If you can thread a nut on there it should be fine, it looks like you are just missing 2 threads.

I would definitely give this a try before replacing your axle, those things aren't cheap!

That happened to my front hub. I managed to get the bolt in and ride it till the inside balls disapeared.

I don't have one. The owner would take one look at it call me a dumbass and tell me to buy a new one lol.

I can't even get a bolt started on it...

Well, reading all, it seems like you might need a new axle.

You're not a dumbass, shit happens, I've definitely damaged threads before too. But man up and get a dye and give it a go, it looks repairable.

No my buddy who did it is. This axle was in perfect condition until he decided to force the bolt on. I learned not to force things a long time ago.
What is a dye? NVM just found one.

I have had that happen too.

Not on Ti.

Took a grinder and shaved the axle down to the clean threads. I had enough space to do so and have the axle flush mounted in the nut.

I would do that but this axle has been cut already and the nut would hang over the axle

Another alternative is either jewelers files, or a thread file. One of your neighbors dads may have one, or the correct sized die, as mentioned above.

Thanks I'm going to go to home depot tomorrow and see if they have a die that will fit.

Ive used it for years without prep with no issues, so no that's not what happens. This is what happens when you let someone else work on your bike.

Just a heads up, a M14 x 1.0 die should work for your Profile Axle.
