Good day to all!

I am currently using an eastern frame with non-integrated headset. It has like a crown type with bearings on it. I would like to try to put integrated headset on it, do you guys know if it will fit? If ever, do I have to replace any parts? TIA!

you cant change over to an integrated headset if your current frame has a standard 1-1/8 headset. i say this because an integrated headset uses bearing races built into the frame. a regular headset uses cups that press into the frame. i could be wrong but i dont think it will work.

Mechanik STI is designed to press into a Standard head tube equipped frame, and convert it to use Campy spec sealed bearings, allowing you to use modern bmx forks only compatible with integrated frames.

You won't be able to just put an integrated headset into it. That sealed shown above will be your best bet, unless you find an adaptor.

I'm starting to get frustrated, I tried to ask the bike shops here for sealed bearing headset set for frame with ball bearings but they don't have an idea of what I'm asking them.

There was 1 guy who told me though that an Enemy sealed headset bearing for integrated frame will fit if I will use an alloy bearing cup.

Any sealed bearing will fit into the Mechanic STI.
hmm some education is in order here I think...
This is your Traditional headset, Known as "Standard" -this is the "Standard Default Headset used for years and years since the days of big front wheels and tiny back wheels

Im not sure what the guy said to you but I've never head of any sealed intergrated bearing fitting in a standard bearing cup, the STI is an exception to this, because the cup is molded to fit a sealed bearing.

Are you from the philippines also? I've been looking for STI headset for so long. Can't find it anywhere. I've seen headset that uses sealed bearings but not campy spec. I would buy that, it also looks like Integ headset.

Those won't fit. even if you have alloy bearing cups. I've seen sealed bearings for Oversize headset.

the reason No sealed bearing will fit in a standard headset cup is because the sealed bearing is not round enough to sit properly in the cup, thus damaging the cup and the bearing. The STI is molded diffrently and made to house a campy spec sealed bearing.

anyways just get a mechanik sti, a block of wood, a hammer, and about a 3/4x12" peice of steel pipe, hammer out the old cups, and put the new ones in carefully, use grease!
you may have to get a new pair of forks aswell that are designed to be used with integrated headset. after that, you can put whatever headset bearings from any bmx website in your bike, so long as their 1-1/8th campy spec sealed. which is just about anything now days.
