Like eskimojay said, make sure its certified. One of the sites with lots of info is this one: http://www.xsportsprotective.com/collections/open-face-bmx-helmets#bmx-helmets.html

I like full face, Bell Sanction.

Lazer Armor. It is well vented, one of the lightest helmets out there, comfortable AND certified.

Amazon has em for like 60 bucks. And before you say that is expensive, a brain scan from railing your head into the ground is a LOT more, by thousands of dollars.

PS Helmets are only good for around 3-5 years, then the foam shells break down, causing them to be weaker. Sweat and heat and cold can cause this to go faster. Get a new one every couple of years.
