Oh wait laughing

But seriously tho. The only thing that'll make your bike faster is a bigger sprocket and you gaining some muscle. Easily within your budget as well. Lol

Get a 28 tooth sprocket, and you'll need a longer chain for then too. But in all honesty you should keep saving up for a better bike than to put money into this one.

er 'ere lad if yer wouldnt mind takin a wee bit of advice from da only person here who would care enough ta help yer... get yer legs stronger first lad... that'll make yer faster... now lets talk about yer bike...

FRAME: Hi-Ten Steel
yer frame well, tis good nuff fir now lad, but yer next frame should be made from Chromoly.

FORKS: 1-1/8th Hi-Ten Steel
Same thing i said with your frame and fork, full 100%chromoly.

BARS: Framed 2pc Bars (8" Tall x 28" Wide)
betcha these are hi-ten aswell... CHROMOLY CHRO-MOL-LEE

GRIPS: Velo Mushroom 150mm
gud nuff...

STEM: Framed Alloy Front Load
i've never heard of this company lad but i probably wouldnt trust this stem with my life... Dk stems, Shadow, Odyssey, Profile, S&M, FBM all good companys to buy parts from...

HEADSET: Neco 28.6 6/34/30mm
good nuff fir now lad... good nuff

BRAKE LEVER: APSE Alloy Lever w/Adjuster
good nuff fir now lad but better lever would be great... dia-tec gold finger, or dirty harry, Shadow Sano*my choice* Odyssey Monolever... all great.

BRAKE: APSE Alloy U-Brake
same thing as the lever lad.

CRANKS: 1pc Forged Steel 175mm w/Unsealed American Bottom Bracket
right lad now here- pay attention, these cranks will kill yer change em out right now- Sunday Saker cranks or rant cranks or stolen talon any cheap 3-peice will do just fine fir yer. be bout 50 bucks ta 180 bucks lad depends on what ye get. lotsa cranks out their I use Profile GDH popular cranks are Odyssey Thunderbolts... yer should measure yer legs and get cranks that are closer to yer leg length theirs charts to tell ya... im 5ft4.5" and i use 165mm cranks.

SPROCKET: 25t Steel
see lad steel is a bit shit unless its chromoly... 1/8th 7005 alluminum sprocket would do yer much better and wont bend as easily lad... depends on yer rear which probably is a 9t driver. but a 27t or 28t sprocket would give ye a bit better pedaling...

CHAIN: KMC Z410
HEY I USE THAT CHAIN!

PEDALS: 1/2" PC Resin
well boy-o 1/2 pedals wont fit into 3-piece cranks... ye need some 7/16ths pedals... odyssey twisted pedals shadow plastic ravager pedals. animal plastic pedals, all good.

FRONT HUB: 3/8" KT Unsealed Hub
gud nuff fir now lad... invest in some cone wrenches and learn how to adjust yer hub lad... sealed hub would be better fir next time....

REAR HUB: 14mm KT Unsealed w/9t Freewheel
same thing as i said bout yer front, and freewheels eh, okay cassette would be better...

RIMS: 36h Single Wall Alloy Pinned
right lad now these are a bit shit- some cheap double walled rims would be much better fir ya...

TIRES: Wanda King 20" X 2.125" Front 20" x 1.95" Rear
good nuff fir now lad...

SADDLE: Frame Padded Comp
meh good nuff

SEAT POST: Integrated
ye cant change that out lad so dont bother...

CLAMP: Framed Alloy Clamp
good nuff fir now lad.

PEGS: Not Included
yer a beginner so ye dont need pegs yet lad.

TOP TUBE: 20.5"
normal thats good.

SEAT TUBE: 8"
not bad...

CHAINSTAY: 13.5"
decent back end,,

BB HEIGHT: 10.5"
ehhhhh this seems a tad high.. think they measured wrong...

APPROX WEIGHT: 25lbs 2oz
doubtful on this weight lad... probably much heavier...

WHEELBASE: 38"
see here now lad this here makes no difference....

just replace your freewheel with a 14t and your sprocket with a 44 and put a longer chain on. and your done. get yourself a better bike if you want to race or do tricks and stuff use this thing for commuting....

i beleive my sprocket is already a 45 i'm not sure if i remember what the guy told me about the freewheel on the back or even what's on the bike its an 07 gt fly bike i just want it to be easier to pedal at normal speeds feels like a task on flat land.

i read a review on my gt fly bike and it said something like The front chainring was off center, but only because the mass-producing machine in Taiwan tightened it that way. This can be fixed easily. I would suggest swapping out the chainring and cog for a 13/28 tooth set

i'm like day 1 noob when it comes to all this.

Outside his budget is an understatement laughing It does look sick, but the '98-'00 Speed Series Team is more my style. My '98 was one of the best race bikes I've ever owned, and I've regretted selling it ever since. Weighed 20 lbs, so was pretty light back then too. I was at Orange Y track like a year after selling it, and ended up buying a used '00 Power Series 1.0 from another racer that was there. Had better parts on it and was a great bike as well. But about a month or so later, a family member decided to be jealous and smash it with a sledgehammer while I was at school, completely ruining the frame and wheels. Best believe I've never wanted to beat the shit out of someone so bad...That being said, I have been considering building up another Speed Series, but anything GT is crazy expensive now. It would probably cost more to build that bike now than it cost new!
