I have noticed recently a lot of commotion about brakes... (sarcasm)

I don't see what difference it makes in a rider by using brakes?

I myself rode a shit mongoose with gyro for a year, took them off rode for 2 years brakeless.. Got my CULT rode single cable for a few months, gone brakeless for another year (in total been riding for around 6 years, on and off riding)
And now im switching it up going to gyro...

It doesn't make somebody a pussy for riding brakes? It's a preference! I have rode brake-less long enough to know it just ruins shoes and gets you almost killed if you ride in a built up area.

Perks OF Brake-less = More freedom when riding, flowy, fearlessness, new adrenaline feel, lighter...
Brakes = Different variations, Maintain control and speed, No broken shoes...
Single cable = Less work/easy maintenance basically in between brakeless and gyro.

What's the godamn big deal about these little kids sooking about brakes?

Kids got int bmx by the brakeless look
They saw some riders or went to a skatepark or saw dew tours/x-games and saw lots of guys have been brakeless, see the bikes close up and it looks cleaner and think that that's what bmx really is

This.
And a large percent who do not know how to install/adjust brakes and found it easier just to say"Im going brakeless".

I think this has a lot to do with it. Some kids can't adjust their chain or keep their headset tight, much less adjust or fix brakes, haha.

kids need brakes because i'm sick of little trendy douchebags snaking my lines because they don't have brakes...and now our park requires them because the shitheads run into cars all the time because they can't figure out their only "brakes" is the friction their shoes create with the ground or their tire.

I use a combo of shoe goo and epoxy to build a "braking area" on the sole of my shoe. Shoes last pretty well this way.

I agree, Brakes are actually really fun, Like... Try an abubaca brakeless and see how much fun that is, I've been almost hit by 5 cars in the EXACT same spot about 5 times this week, each time if i had brakes i wouldn't of had that problem cause you catch too much speed at that particular spot.

I'm getting brakes to be safer, more practical, a more fun way to ride...

Plus i know how to fucking maintain my brakes lol, I also think kids call them "Shit" and "useless" because they have no fucking clue what brake tension is hahahaaha.

i personally ride brakeless and i have been in close misses once or twice but i do like brakeless and to be honest i have no idea how to properly maintain them. i feel good and comfortable riding brakeless and i am not going to change that wether i am a "trendfag" or not.

I love this, But especially when it went from gyro being a park rat trendy cunt to brakeless ghetto trendy cunt...

I honestly think personally it's because kids rather listen to their Hardcore Trail Elites buzzing behind them than a well built sexy ass brake system.
