I want to run front brake only now. I do not have a front brake and plan to purchase one. I have some questions
1. How do i stop without going over the bars at high speeds?
2. How do i set them up on a fork without mounts or mounting holes (just the hole above where the tire would be
3. How do i thread the cable through my steertube (my compresion cap is not hollow and i dont know where i would get a hollow one?
4. Is it hard to run front brakes at the trails? Will i die?

These questions tell me that you might not be ready for front brakes....

You'll need new forks with 990 mounts. Usually forks that have 990 mounts will also have a hollow bolt to route the cable. I recommend the Odyssey f25 forks because they're pretty much the only new fork available that comes with 990 mounts now lol. Beware though because they're 25mm offset whice makes turning tight. Also make sure that the brakes you get are abe to be setup as front brakes. Not all brakes can be used as front brakes. Good luck and have fun!

I highly recommend you get either odyssey or deco forks. S&m have forks with mounts. Get odyssey evoII odyssey slick (non linear!) Any brake lever will work

First of all, you don't even need front brakes at all, especially for trails. What are you gonna do? Get technical and start pulling front brake nose presses? And most optimal fork compression bolts would be like the Odyssey ones, so if you're still stuck with a star nut, it's going to be near impossible to work with anything.
