How to halfcab

just like a fakie, carve into it a little and get a small hop out of it. Its also like a 180, they won't look the best when you first do them. And you carve in the fakie. Once you get better at them then you can take away the carve

if youre going fast enough then you can carve a lil and hop and itll carry you around

Yep, pretty much a quick 180 out. When you first start off, you're gonna want to do them "late". Pretty much just fakie but around the 90 degree moment, do a quick bunnyhop while turning. You can do them even "later" if you want, it just won't be a legitimate half cab. But hey, it still counts anyhow.Sometimes, they're used to save you in certain situations where you're hauling ass and you might accidentally pull one due to using so much pedal pressure.

Honestly it was weird as fuck ( with a coaster at least ) when I first got one , I did like 90 cabs and my front wheel just came untrue like every session . Within like 2 days I figured it out , and committed to it. Just grow balls and hop it

At the first days of riding with a coaster, the half cab was hard, i was just carving backward and not hopping.

The secret was to use more my bar.
I'm left foot forward so i turn to the right, so for do a half cab, i just pull my left hand, the bike start to carve a bit, and i do my hop just after.

You don't need to carve too much, or you'll stay locked in your turn, good luck !

On a cassette i learned to just do a normal pivot-out and hop out of the pivot. After a while that turned into actual half cabs.

That's like when park riders do a 180 whip flyout then fakie around and bar back in , it's barely even a cab lol

I never got em on a cassette at first, tried em chainless and could get them ok, then i got my coaster and can do them fairly well. With the coaster/chainless brakes definitely help, not necessary though. I can get them on a cassette now but I just use pedal pressure. Just carve to a 45, stop your back wheel (brakes/pressure), pull up the front and look over your shoulder, tuck the back, and land it at 180.

No, he got 180's down. He just does them the two-tired way that most people learn at first. He's an indian giver though, so he tries so hard to fakie out the right direction and it ends up looking horrible, lol.
