My bike came with 19mm hub and I wanted to upgrade the hub but 19mm is a strange size. Can the dropouts fit 17mm hub?

You mean it came with 19mm axle nuts?

Yes, is there multiple axle sizes?

The front axle is usually 3/8ths and the rear 14mm. This is pretty much universal in BMX right now and is true for your Shovelhead. The size of the nut won't affect this. Your new hub will fit your dropouts.

Just get 17mm axle nuts. I have the 19mm nuts on the back of my bike too. Still a 14mm axle though. I don't know why some companies do the 19mm nuts. It's annoying.
